Dear Lakers, I take the time in this newsletter to be brief and say what some of you may or may not have heard: I, Eva 3000, am no longer the Rah of Lost Lakes. Roy Seigfried, long time contributor and friend to the dream, will take over my role. I have known Roy probably my whole stay these past 10 years (nearly 6 of which I served as Rah), like many of you, and believe he will serve Lost Lakes well. Leaving is an idea I've entertained for a few months, now. Although there is love for Lakes in my heart as one of the first online communities I've ever joined, I also realize that administering the dream is no longer fun nor something for which I have time. Yet all around me, I see the same enthusiasm for the dream I saw when I first joined a decade ago. Young, creative minds occupy the dream, willing to help. Their skills are numerous, their excitement is infectious, and their intent is pure. Understanding this, I've spent the past few months trying to add staff members who exhibit these qualities and form new jobs and timelines that would propell the dream forward. Summer draws near, and it promises to be one of the busiest in my entire life. As during the past few years, I let the dream stagnate during unoccupied summers, I can't imagine this upcoming season to be any better. When I came to this conclusion, I decided the time for this was now. I have contacted my staff, made the appropriate changes with our bookkeeper, and passed on my files to the concerned staff members. I will be accessible to them as they make the changes in ownership of things like the website over time. I thank you all for your support and criticisms and wish Roy, the staff, and all members of Lost Lakes the best going forward. Love, Eva 3000 Former Rah. Lost Lakes
